Memento Mori Bowls
Slip-cast porcelain cups with hand-traced text

When I first encountered a 17th-century plate inscribed "You & I Are Earth 1661," I was struck by how contemporary it felt. Four hundred years old and it was speaking directly to me; telling me that it is made of earth and one day I will be earth too.

I made my own cup as a dedication to this idea. Slip-cast porcelain with hand-traced text, modelled directly from this plate, a way to hold the thought that the material we are holding will outlast us, and we will become it.

Each cup is unique and comes with a wild clay stand made from foraged London clay. You can commission bespoke text, your own words, your own memento mori.

Functional objects meant to be touched and lived with. For Sale. £150 each.
